YES, Trump said some really crappy things about women, and…..

….that means what exactly? This is the bit I am struggling with. He is not a nice guy? He is suddenly unable to lead America because he said some shitty things ten years ago? That his policies are somehow less important or considered or relevant than they were a few days ago before we knew?

What exactly?

Is what he said excusable? Does it need to be? Really? Why? And what does that mean anyhow? I mean this people saying “Oh your apology looks forced”, Who fucking cares? Its from people that would under no circumstances have accepted it and probably would not have voted for him regardless, but want to marinate in his “comeuppance”. Fuck them, there is nothing he would have been able to do to “make things right” with them, so who cares about their opinion?

So Hillary and her surrogates think that this nullifies his attacks over her husbands, treatment of women. What about Hillary herself? He certainly was taped having a pretty lewd locker room type spew against women, but what about HER?

I do not even have to look at Bill and HIS behaviour but LOOK at Hillary. Not that Hillary has said anything that Donald has said (which is immature, chest thumping, ego blasting, crass, lewd locker room speak) BUT I would say this is equally on the same level……on second thoughts probably a fair bit worse.

Did you get an apology from Hillary? Will anyone expect it? Will she be pilloried for it?

The thing that pisses me off with this whole thing is that Hillary could rock up to the debate with a baby on her lap and proceed to eat it live on air and she would get a pass on it. Trump will cop a lot of shit over this and it may stymie his rise.

I was never under any allusion about Trump. The man IS flawed. “How flawed?” Is the question. Not nearly as much as Hillary. His getting another Conservative judge will prevent a lot of eroding of the US legislation and will prevent redefining traditionally held interpretations of the constitution. His putting America first will allow America to thrive in a world economy. His willingness to break up the establishment will allow for a lot of the trough swilling corruption to be exposed and cauterised. He is taking out Common Core. He has that effect of calling out bullshit (much like the boy from the Emperor’s new clothes story). It is a necessary when political correctness and moral pandering to “Progressives” and Liberal media has a chilling effect on people. He calls it out right or wrong. He is coming at many of his policies with a fresh set of eyes and that is also helpful.

I think he will get decent and smart people around him to feed him good knowledge and execute the aspects of government that he needs to run America. I do not think he will be terribly hands on but I think that he will be a decent statesman as his talks with the Egyptian leaders and the Mexican President.

I think as flawed as he is, he is not without any merit and I think the same cannot be said for Hillary. In the debate when he said “She has experience and its bad experience. 30 years and what have you done?” Its all true. She is the embodiment of political corruption and status quo. The very worst of politics is what she offers. It needs to be done away with.

I am so annoyed that this COULD actually hurt him and be seen as mattering to his Presidency when it doesn’t in the slightest.

My two cents on the first Presidential debate

I hate Hillary BUT I love an underdog. That was Donald. Now I am not going to pretend and spin a narrative here. I will call it straight. Pieces fall where they may.

Hillary has been built up by the press and the Liberal surrogates to be this Uber-woman of politics. The pinnacle of Presidential candidacy. The best this to be injected into politics since whenever. In respect to Donald trump, he was unelectable, unpresidential, stupid, boorish, charmless, ineffectual, inarticulate, and a joke.

What they had failed, in their stupidity, to realise is where this sets the bar of expectation for each candidate. Hillary has to annihilate Trump and handle him with utmost ease and Trump has to fail utterly.

I admit I thought it would go precisely either of two ways. Either she was going to be the frail, sickly, unfocused and off form or she was going to be on her game and well-rehearsed, focused and in command of her faculties.

Trump in the last few months has consolidated and gone hard after Hillary’s lead. It has vanished and the battle ground states that were 6 or 7 points down, he is now leading in. The ones that were 13 points down are now in play and some are starting to shift into being in play, that were not considered anything but safe. (Who would have guessed Missouri, Illinois or Massachusetts would have been a consideration two months ago?) But now was the moment of reckoning.

He was taking on Hillary. A frail, unfocused Hillary not in command of her faculties would kill the remaining hope of winning. He was going to roll her if she was like that. I hoped this is what was going to happen. I hoped for a series of coughs,, maybe a seizure and topped off with her excusing herself and then fainting. That could have worked for me. The alternative was that an focused well-rehearsed Hillary would smash Trump and not only stop his meteoric rise in the polls but would start reversing all that work. Then I saw her.

It was healthy Hillary. My heart sank. Trump was screwed.

Then something rather unexpected happened (I should expect the unexpected with Trump), Trump rose to the occasion. He held his own. I still find it strange that I find this so surprising.

Now I promised you honesty and so honestly speaking, Hillary technically was much better. She was practiced. She was focused and by any metric she beat Trump. let’s keep it real. She was polished. She was Presidential and statesman-like. (Believe me I do not like saying this either). Trump? He was not polished. He was not as prepared. He went off topic a fair bit. He was given to a lot of vague meandering nonsense and he interrupted. BUT not a lot. He ALSO took it to her as much as she him and on bigger point. They both left their mark on each other. He was came up with some damn good points and more importantly enough of them.

YES Hillary out-performed Trump but not considerably. The truth is that he stayed with her right to the end. She was SUPPOSED to break past him and leave him in the dust instead of a winning photo finish. HER strength over Donald is an in-depth knowledge of policies and politics from 30 years involved intimately with it. It was her chance to prove how great she could show herself in this and how lacking Donald was in this area. THAT is ALL she has. (Well that, and a Moderator helping her). She could not do it.

Serious questions need to be asked in the Clinton camp. Trump brings hope, a new vision, a persuasive personality, energy, and an ability to talk off the cuff about what he feels with Americans. What else does Hillary have besides the weight of the Liberal press and establishment (that has not stopped the rise of Trump) AND the well rehearsed scripts on policies and political experience (that came to mean nothing in the debate)? She has nothing.

Its actually worse than that though. Hillary was on the top of her game. Trump exhausted her ammunition and kept himself in check. He got the feel of what she was like her measure. I know he will capitalise. Hillary is not an evolving creature. She is the final form. He adapts and evolve and we have seen this throughout the Presidential race. He is unpredictable and she will not be able to get a bead on her. He has her and he will got after her to counter her a little on next debate.

Moreso than this. He was more presidential and in control than he has been any time in the cycle and she was the polished robot. Therefore whilst she has scripted answers, he seemed to go off the cuff. Whilst the prattling was a bit much sometimes it sounded (true or not) honest. She did not sound honest (true or not), she sounded like she had practiced everything she said. With such little between them in the actual debate, this factor will possibly sway the undecided voters to Trump. It would have been absolutely different if she sounded like a robot AND buried Trump….but she didn’t.

I honestly cannot see Hillary capitalising on this debate for the next. The debate was a wash. But it gave the opponents at least a measure of each other. I think Hillary is not going to be able to prepare for the next debate’s Trump. She lost her opportunity to take control of the campaign and take Trump off the chess board and she failed.

The beauty of it is the Liberal press and Liberal establishment have helped pave the way for her lose in overrating Hillary and underrating Trump as badly as they have. Had they have been considered equals she would not appear to have done so badly below expectation and he would not have appeared to eclipse all expectation. They screwed themselves and I love the Schadenfreude.

Trump Train has no brakes, it would appear. He will be next President.

An Australian Centrist view of Donald Trump…

Hillary Clinton is corrupt and an influence peddling politician, on the take, and seemingly above the law. She is however cunning as a fox and has the might of the establishment, media, social platforms, and the majority of Hispanic, Black and LGBT voters supporting her.

But then there is Donald Trump.

How the Hell did this guy blow away 16 candidates? The guy is a machine.

I DO like his ability to piss people off and not budge an inch against the outrage merchants, PC police, identity politic panderers and Social Justice Warriors. Takes guts and balls. Another thing I like about him is his ability to actually engage and be animated, joke around, and such. The fact that people under-estimate him is kind of awesome.

There is one tiny thing I have an issue with. (I mean he IS a blowhard, egoist and arrogant, but I have no issue with these things. Nothing dishonest or malicious about these traits – See Hillary above). That one issue is, in his efforts to simplify things he has taken very complex matters with much nuance and sensitivity and a heap of context, and tried to sum these things up in 2 sentence answers. Now I have reason to suspect why he has done this but it HAS hurt him a bit and unfairly so.

I can well imagine his campaign staff saying “Okay Donald, I really need your attention a minute. Here is one of the big issues we need to address. Read through this memo on illegal immigrants. Really important.”

Him saying “Yeah I got it. Illegal immigrants are important”

Them trying again “No, Donald. We spent hours on this. It is really nuanced and very sensitive. We need you to hit all the right notes or they will twist this to make you look really bad”

Him saying “Trust me it will be fine. They will love it”

Them going full hog whilst they have his attention “Right. Donald, because of open borders Mexican cartels prey on illegal immigrants to people smuggle, use as drug mules and rape trees mark the no man land around the border between Mexico and US, as a testament to the brutality that the Mexican cartels visit on illegal immigrants trying to cross. There is gang warfare and murders and associated cartel violence around these areas. A border wall will reduce this substantially. It will keep our citizens safer and mean less illegal immigrants have to deal with these atrocities.”

He tells them its great and then (without teleprompter) and without any of that background or context says “They send rapists and drug dealers here…”

At the end of the speech he is all smiles and thumbs up, the liberal press gets out their knives and the memo writers are consecutively facepalming or crying.

This is I think his biggest problem. I do not think his policies or messages are bad or immoral or come from a bad place nor are stupid. I think they are really very good. His delivery did suck.

Was it completely be accident though?

Donald Trump is despite his faults persuasive, charismatic AND smart. It is one of the things that people so often underrate him on. I notice it with Liberals, they see him and assume that he is stupid and immoral and then with this overestimation of their own moral and intellectual superiority over him and by direct connection, his followers, they cast insults and judgments down from a high horse position.

Then they are surprised when he meets each challenge put toward him. They increasingly find themselves running short of reasons for him doing so well. Luck can only go so far and how many people in the US are REALLY THAT stupid/immoral? Of course the possibility that they were the stupid ones to not see what was going on is too hard for them to admit. The same applies to their belief of him as a fascist, Nazi, racist, xenophobe, sexist or whatever. He keeps on Trumping them. Shame too for them because they miss out on seeing brilliance.

Remember when he started? 16 candidates. Over a year worth of campaigning. I think he was smart and said “I gotta do whatever I need to win this Primary. Long term consequences be damned. Let me win here and then I will deal with the fallout later because if i don’t win this and play too safe, there will be no later”

He generated SO much free press. As someone that was funding himself it would have been a boon, BUT that was not the main two reasons to generate the free press. One reason was to make him the focus. This put him right up at the leader pack in front of many seasoned politicians. It also starved publicity from the other candidates. If everyone is writing about Trump and not you, then they are unlikely to vote for you. Of course I have mentioned the types of things he said that generated this free publicity.

Then he picked those juvenile names:Low Energy Jeb, Little Marco and Lyin’ Ted. Yes, they were silly and immature BUT they DID stick with repetition and NO ONE wants to vote in a politician that you think is a liar or is lazy or petite.

They kept dropping out. It WAS brutal and there was a lot of fallout. The party was fractured. Then it was time to start consolidating. His VP pick was a good one. Not only for the evangelical vote (because he was not going to get it through the Cruz camp) but more importantly he represented a line to the establishment who were unhappy with Trump (a tip of the hat, if you will). Heading into the convention an attempted coup failed. The convention was almost resoundingly a success. Two speeches (his wife’s and Ted’s) were slightly problematic. But that was no big thing. Letting Ted speak would make Donald look like the better person regardless. Better he did look too. Whilst Cruz was not interested in endorsing Trump, he virtual committed political suicide and so very many of his horrified supporters have thrown in with Trump now.

Trump no longer needs to attract attention. He needs to mend a few bridges, which as mentioned above, he is doing. He needs to campaign hard but he is up for that. He has identified 15 battleground states to concentrate on leading up to the election. I have noticed he is relying more on the teleprompters and keeping it nice and tight. His support base is solid and growing. His party is slowly solidifying around him. (Many of the people adamantly opposed to him are coming to the end of their terms this year and may well finish up or be voted out, which will take away some of the problem).

So at the moment he is up in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. If he can defend the Romney states and flip these, then he has won it. He is 5 months from the general election and obviously a lot can happen but he has finally broken through and is leading Hillary in the polls, and in the states that matter.

I personally think Hillary for all her corruption and her support from media, social media, SuperPacs, various celebrities and Liberal establishment will lose this one. She WILL snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

It will be glorious. When she loses and he wins, I am going to contact all of those celebrities that virtue signalled that they were going to leave US if trump became President and I will ask them each when are they leaving.

This is an exciting election. I do hope that the Bernie supporters do not support Hillary as she screwed them through her surrogates in the DNC. We know how that goes though they do her bidding on her behalf with her having plausible deniability and in return they get the promise of a reward. Just like the Mafiosi back in the day the soldiers would do work for the caporegimes who acted for the Don. If the soldiers were caught they had to take the fall and remain quiet. Whilst in prison, their families were looked after and they had a reward for when they got out. However if they tried to rat out the Boss, then the result was often fatal. Do Debbie Wasserman-Schultz takes the fall and gets an appointment by Hillary as a reward (Well done trying to look like you were not rewarding her Hillary, subtle you weren’t).

I think really their options are either of two options. Either “reward” Hillary and give her the result she deserves by voting for Trump OR vote for someone at least as ideologically pure as Bernie (if not moreso) in progressive politics. Carry on the Political revolution. Vote for her, build the grassroots and networks. If you vote for her will you win? Nope. But if you do all rally behind her, you will give her strength and you will see how much difference you made, where your weaknesses are and what you need to do over the next 4 years to make the party viable and politically viable against the other two. So maybe a red, blue and green party?

I am really looking forward to Trump winning and for him to prove his naysayers wrong.
